Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei/The Educators, Sunday Movie Night

The last Sunday of every month we show independent and experimental films as well as documentaries from Germany. The films are screened with English subtitles and open to all. This month's screening features the world's social injustice in a fictional way.
The Educators, by Hans Weingartner (2004, 126 min)
Jan and Peter share an apartment in Berlin, a VW bus and ideas about how to take action against social injustice in the world. They spy out luxury villas and burgle them when their owners are not home. They do not steal anything. Rather their aim is to create a mess there and leave messages like 'you have too much money' or 'The Educators'.
Although Jule is in a relationship with Peter, she falls in love with Jan. In the exuberance of emotions they break into another villa and are caught by the owner. For this situation the self-appointed 'legal guardians' have no plan -- and they unexpectedly become kidnappers.
