Pathshala launches online course on 'Immersive Media and Online Journalism'

Pathshala South Asian Media Institute has announced a new online course titled 'Immersive Media and Online Journalism' on November 10, 2021, at a press conference at DrikPath Bhabon. 

Pathshala and Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) have jointly organised this online course aiming to provide a platform for the journalists and students home and abroad to reshape their journalism and storytelling approach. 

Keynote speaker Shahidul Alam said, "By considering the current pandemic situation, one of the good signs was how to think in a different way. Thus possibilities were created to reach many students globally by designing an online course." He discussed the courses and how online journalism can be a useful medium in future. 

Saydia Gulrukh, another keynote speaker,  spoke about how the course was designed by following the Universal Standard Guideline, making it helpful for journalists to establish an ethical framework for them.

The course concentrates on Writing Visual Journalism, Photojournalism, Video Journalism, Interactive Journalism & Immersive Experience, Journalism ethics, Investigative Journalism & Safety guidelines. The lectures will be conducted by six Bangladeshi tutors and seven international experts from Asia who shared their experiences on specific topics during the announcement event.
