Instagram down: Many users reportedly locked out of their accounts

Photo and video-sharing social media platform Instagram reportedly has stopped working properly for many users globally. Many users have reported to The Daily Star that their account has been locked. 

According to several users, they were unable to open the platform. They also saw a warning message indicating their account had been suspended. 

Instagram, from their verified Twitter account, have informed that they are aware of the problems. But the platform did not comment on whether the suspensions were the result of a bug.

"We're aware that some of you are having issues accessing your Instagram account," its official account wrote. "We're looking into it and apologise for the inconvenience."
