High Court puts stay order on penalty of Tk 2 lakh by Consumer Rights Directorate

High Court has put a stay order on the penalty of Tk 2 Lakh by the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection on Shohoz, the ticketing startup. Sources working at Shohoz confirmed the stay order.

This stay order comes into effect after Shohoz filed a writ petition in the High Court challenging the validity of the decision to impose a fine of Tk2 lakh.

The platform submitted the petition to the HC on Monday, also seeking a stay on the decision, petitioner's lawyer KM Tanjib-Ul-Alam told The Daily Star earlier.

Shohoz was fined for a complaint filed by Dhaka University (DU) student Mohiuddin Roni who accused Shohoz of mismanagement of online ticketing.
