Elephant found dead in Netrakona

Police recovered the body of an elephant from Bedghora in Netrakona's Kalmakanda upazila this morning.

Quoting locals, Officer-in-Charge of Kalmakanda Police Station Md Abdul Ahad Khan said locals found the animal in a cropland and then informed police.

Police visited the spot and found no injury marks on the animal's body, the OC said.

The body was handed over to officials of forest department and livestock, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.

Forest department's Durgapur Range Officer Md Saidul Islam said samples of the elephant were collected for forensic test and the cause of death will be known after the test report.
