Dengue fever: 3 die, 515 hospitalised in 24 hours

At least three dengue patients died while 515 others were admitted to different hospitals across the country in 24 hours till this morning.

With the new deaths, a total of 237 people died of dengue fever this year while the total number of cases rose to 53,928, of which, 18,220 are from outside of Dhaka.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), among the deaths, 143 were in Dhaka, 24 in Cox's Bazar, 31 in Chattogram, 11 in Barishal, seven in Khulna, six in Mymensingh, five in Rajshahi, two in Narail and one each in Narsingdi, Kushtia, Pabna, Bagerhat, Khagrachhari, Bogura, Madaripur and Feni.

A total of 51,460 patients have already been released, of them, 18,220 are from outside the capital.

Some 2,231 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment, of which, 988 are from outside of Dhaka.
