Suranjit blasts BNP for budget remarks

Suranjit blasts BNP for budget remarks

Awami League advisory council member Suranjit Sengupta today blasted BNP, saying it has no moral ground to make any criticism over the proposed national budget.

Suranjit came up with the remark a day after BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir termed the current government illegal and said it has no moral ground to pass the budget.

Suranjit however asked the BNP leaders to put forward their suggestions as to how the budget can be implemented, reports the Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

“Put forward your suggestions if there are any, then we will take those into our consideration,” he added.

Suranjit claimed the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year did not create any adverse impact on the prices of essential commodities.

He also sought supports from all people irrespective of their party affiliation to implement the budget Finance Minister AMA Muhith presented before the parliament yesterday.

“People in and outside the parliament and opposition parties will have to extend their supports to implement the budget,” he said.

The veteran AL leader was addressing a discussion organised by Bangabandhu Academy at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in the capital.
