A sudden cloudburst at the beginning of spring has brought back chill and disrupted people's life especially in the capital.

While people in different districts experienced the untimely rain since Friday morning, Dhaka dwellers saw it starting in yesterday evening.

What started as drizzle took heavier form during the night, creating small puddles at different points of the city.

Already caught in regular gridlocks, people in the capital doubly suffered with the commence of the week due to ongoing flyover projects and the beautification works of Dhaka City Corporation ahead of T20 World Cup.

Large parts of the roads are being occupied due to the flyover construction works.

With the city authorities renovating the pavements beside the main thoroughfares as part of the beautification project, pedestrians are the major sufferers of this unexpected intermittent torrent.

With gusty wind, the weather has become chillier.

Talking to The Daily Star, Arif Hossain, a meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department office, identified an extension of a low in the West Bengal as the reason for the rain.

The situation might improve by tomorrow, he added.

No signal however was hoisted at sea or river ports.
