Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday reiterated her government's firm stance to take stern action against violence and killings of innocent people by BNP-Jamaat alliance in the name of an anti-government movement.

The Prime Minister said this while laying the foundation stones of Vulta Flyover and third Shitalakkhya Bridge through a videoconferencing from her official residence Ganabhaban.
“The ongoing violence has seriously been affecting the low-income group people as well as the academic activities of SSC examinees. The government is taking necessary steps to contain these anti-state activities,” she added.
In this connection, she sought the cooperation of the people to resist these sayings, and  that their assistance is urgently needed.
She also said that the killings of innocent people to serve anyone's personal interest will not be tolerated.
With the inauguration of these two big infrastructures, Hasina hoped, Narayanganj city will regain its lost liveliness.
The flyover will help smooth plying of vehicles on Dhaka-Sylhet highway apart from spurring economic activity.
