PDF Leadership Training on Inclusiv Society and Scribe Award Ceremony 2018

Physically-challenged Development Foundation (PDF), University of Dhaka, organised a day-long "Leadership Training on Inclusive Society and Scribe Award Ceremony 2018" on April 28, 2018, at University of Dhaka. The day-long leadership training and workshop was arranged in order to promote active citizenship and to convey the message of inclusive society among the young learners of higher educational institutions.

The programme was divided into two segments; 'Leadership Training on Inclusive Society' and the 'Scribe Award Ceremony 2018'. The latter was held to recognise the writers who attended in the examinations for the students who are visually impaired.

The event had three specific targets; to raise awareness about disability, accessibility, disability rights and writer for the visually impaired; to develop the leadership capacity of the students and students with disabilities of University of Dhaka; and to convey the message of inclusive society and inclusive education.

Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, attended as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr C R Abrar, Professor Dr Mosharraf Hossain and Mizanur Rahman Kiron, Founder and President of PDF, were the special guests. Md Tawohidul Haque, Assistant Professor of ISWR, DU, presided over the programme.

Several training sessions on various issues related to inclusive society and leadership were also arranged. Tanjim Ferdous, The Daily Star; Makshud Manik, Youth Opportunities; Fatimatul Botul, British Council Bangladesh; and Tamim Mahmud, Telco Distribution Company, were the trainers of the 'Leadership Training on Inclusive Society' segment. With over 180 students attending the trainings, the event resulted to be a fruitful one.
