USAID’S Obirodh: Road to Tolerance Programme hosts their 30th workshop

An interactive workshop on religious harmony, youth power and pluralism among youth was held at the premises of Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB), recently. Hosted jointly by Outbox Limited and Notre Dame University Drama and Film Club (NDUBDFC), and supported by USAID'S Obirodh: Road to Tolerance Programme, the event was a part of 'Shobai Vinno Ekshathe Ononnyo' (SVEO) campaign.

The event was moderated by AKM Shawklat Islam Parnel, M&E officer of SVEO and Saidul Haque Tanjib Project Coordinator of SVEO. History Professor of Dhaka University, Mesbah Kamal, and prominent activist Souvaggo Mongol Chakma were present at the event as chief guests among others.

The event began with NDUB's Vice Chancellor, Fr Patrick D Gaffney's welcome address and was followed by speeches from NDUBDFC's Moderator, Ranet John Paul Gomes's speech and BBA Department Head, Dr Porimal Chandra Datta.

After the introductory session, students participated in the activities of the workshop. They presented their thoughts on inclusive culture, their way of dealing with acceptance, and their views on diversity and difference.

After the discussion, the students were asked to answer questions set by the SVEO officials to test their knowledge and thoughts regarding the above stated issues. After the students were done with their answers, the questions were given to them for the second time to monitor shifts and changes from their previous replies.

The final segment consisted an in-depth discussion where students were asked to share their queries and thoughts on Obirodh's initiatives and practices. Certificates, t-shirts, and stationaries were provided at the end of the workshop.
