The Grand Finale of Hult Prize at University of Dhaka-2020 to be held today

The acclaimed Hult Prize is brought to the University of Dhaka (DU) this year, as 'Hult Prize at University of Dhaka-2020'. The event will be held today at the Conference Hall, Faculty of Business Studies, DU.

 

The participants of this competition started submitting their ideas online from October. 83 teams from students of the university submitted their ideas for this contest, from which 22 ideas were shortlisted. "The challenge for the competition is 'Empowering Earth' - Bold Businesses for a Better Planet," shared the campus director of Hult Prize at University of Dhaka, A K M Tausif Tanzim Ahmed.

 

In association with Hult Prize at University of Dhaka, the organiser of the programme, Positive Bangladesh will also launch their first youth magazine, 'Youৎসব'.

 

Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, DU, will attend the event as chief guest. On the other hand, the jury board of the grand finale includes Professor Dr Mubarak Ahmad Khan, (inventor of jute poly bag and Chief Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission), Tina Jabeen, (Investment Advisor, StartUp Bangladesh, ICT Ministry), along with Fayez Ahmed, (Youth Co-Lab Coordinator, UNDP), Shiddhartho Probal, (Coordinator, Digital Khichuri Challenge, UNDP), Tanay Kumar Roy, (Research Analyst, IDLC Securities), Erad Kawsar, (Country Director, YGAP, and Zafie Shafiee, (Co-founder Singularity Limited and Director, Bondstein).

 

The global finalist team for this year is 'SafeWheel' from BUP. The open for all event is sponsored by Guardian Life Insurance Limited as the title sponsor, supported by EMK Center, Podium as youth engagement partner and Sweetsin Coffees as the food partner.
