M Ahsan Al Mahir (SOS Hermann Gmeiner College, Dhaka), Ahmed Ittihad Hasib (Dhaka Residential Model College, Mohammadpur, Dhaka), Soumitra Das (Government Rajendra College, Faridpur), Md Maruf Hasan Rubab (Mymensingh Zilla School, Mymensingh), Saadman Hasan (St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Dhaka) and Mashroor Hasan Bhuiyan (Notre Dame College, Dhaka) represented Bangladesh in Bath, United Kingdom, at this year's International Math Olympiad (IMO).  Ahsan bagged the Bronze medal while Soumitra, Ittihad, Maruf and Saadman received honourable mentions at the prize-giving ceremony of the competition.

"Getting to know so many new people and learning about their countries was a major takeaway from the event," shared Ahsan. The team also visited many places and learned about the historic significance of Bath during their trip. The mathematical problems in the competition required critical analysis and effective time management from the team. "There is a difference between just solving problems and actually sitting at IMO with the clock ticking behind you. So, we think that simulating exam environments, regular practice and dedication are really important," adds Mashroor.
