Sonia Bashir Kabir pledges to empower the youth with technology

Sonia Bashir Kabir, Vice Chairman, United Nations Technology Bank for LDCs, Governing Board Member UNESCO MGIEP and Managing Director of Microsoft Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, and Laos, was recently invited by The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) to speak at 'Bebshayi Shommelon 2018' at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC). The event, which took place on December 19, featured 35 business leaders and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as Chief Guest. Sonia expressed her full support towards empowerment of the youth, which is an important area of focus in Awami League's Election Manifesto for the upcoming Election.

"With more than 50% of our population under the age of 30, I honestly feel that our youth will be the strongest stakeholders and the biggest recipients of Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Digital Bangladesh initiative," said Sonia, who has pledged to work with the youth and empower them with technology. She has been proactive in her youth-led initiatives all over Bangladesh, from creating projects for student interns, campus ambassadors, promoting startups to mentoring and arranging funding for them.

In addition to women empowerment, Sonia is also inspired by focus of AL's Manifesto on health and farmers.
