Uniting the western and the eastern hemispheres together, two photographers merged their journeys through their photographs in the exhibition titled Desh-Bidesh. The photo exhibition was inaugurated on January 17, 2019, on the premises of Jainul Art Gallery, Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka.

The opening ceremony was presided over by bird watcher, traveller, and photographer Enam Ul Haque. Dipu Moni, Minister, Ministry of Education, was present at the event as the chief guest along with Farida Yasmin, General Secretary, Bangladesh National Press Club, Professor Nisar Hosain, Dean (Acting), Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, and Nazrul Islam Babu, incumbent Member of Parliament from Narayanganj-2 as special guests.

The ceremony began with world traveller and photographer Tanvir Apu's welcome address and was followed by senior journalist and photographer Ahmed Pipul's speech which enlightened the audience with the motto of the exhibition 'Travelling can work as a remedy for youths against religious extremism, drug addiction, and crime'.

The formal session came to an end with the chief guest's speech where Education Minister Dipu Moni asserted, "Every photo ever clicked tells a story. Often it treasures personal moments of grief or joy, but sometimes it can be a record for a historic event.  A photo by an amateur is always different from an expert photographer. However, it never fails to convey a message. All we need to do is look carefully and find its silent tale."

This enlightening session led to the inauguration of the photo exhibition. 25 photographs were displayed among which 10 narrated the folklore and heritage of Polli Bangla (by Ahmed Pipul) and 15 recounted the legacies of notable international travel locations (by Tanvir Apu).
