Cleaning the shores with the ‘Trashtag’ challenge

With an objective to clean the sea shores, AMAL Foundation has come up with the 'Trashtag' challenge.

Initially, the project was named #Trashtag. It involves picking an area that needs cleaning and taking a picture. Then, the participants of the challenge must clean that place, take another picture, and post it on social media for others to do the same.

The challenge started with a local youth group cleaning 20 tourist locations in the area, including Laboni Point, Sugondha Sea Inn Beach Point, and Kolatoli Intersection in Cox's Bazar. They hope to clean one area every week.

The volunteers found plastic bottles and bags, cigarette filters, and bottles on the shores. These wastes were piled up and then burned by them.

The members of AMAL Foundation are looking to clean as many sea beaches as they can. They hope that many others will take part in the challenge.
