6th Laboratorians National Science Festival held

As a way of inspiring young scientists, the Science Club of The Laboratorians hosted the 6th Laboratorians National Science Festival  2019 last month.

Participation in three categories: Junior (class vi-viii), College (class xi-xii), and University (only for photography, gaming), were organised for the students from all over Dhaka.

The event segments for these three categories specifically were: Science Project Display, Mechanical, Non-mechanical, IT, Innovative Zone (Drones, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Robots), Scrapbook Contest, Math Olympiad, Physics Olympiad, Chemistry Olympiad, Biology Olympiad, Astronomy Olympiad, ICT Olympiad, Informatics Olympiad, Team-Based Quiz Contest, General Science Olympiad, Multimedia Presentation, Digital Poster, Science-based Storywriting, Wall Magazine, Rubik's Cube Contest, Sudoku Contest,  Instant science-based problem solving and the IQ test. An open-for-all photography contest and gaming contest was also organised.

Club moderators Md Ahsan Ullah and Md Quamrus Shaleheen welcomed all the participants. In his welcome speech, Md Ahsan Ullah said, "As the children are to shape up the country's future, I am happy to see so many young juveniles experimenting with science. I hope you all keep experimenting and innovating."

The chief guest, Dr Mohammad Kaykobad, Professor, BUET, was glad to see the enthusiasm of these young future scientists and wished them luck for their future progress.

Around 1500 participants from 200 leading education institutions in Dhaka participated in the festival, which ended with a prize-giving ceremony and a vote of thanks from the club president.
