ICBSD 2018 held at University of Rajshahi

The International Conference on Business and Sustainable Development (ICBSD), organised by Faculty of Business Studies, was held at University of Rajshahi on March 8 and 9, 2018.

On the first day of the event, the inaugural session of ICBSD 2018 was held at the Senate Building located in the university premises. Professor M Abdus Sobhan, Vice Chancellor of University of Rajshahi, was present as the Chief Guest, while Professor Dr Ananda Kumar Saha, Pro-Vice Chancellor; and Md Mojib Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, Investment Corporation of Bangladesh, were also present as Special Guests at the inaugural session. Professor Md Shibley Sadique, PhD, lead the programme as the Conference Chairperson.

During the conference, 150 teachers from different public and private universities presented their research papers. On March 9, the concluding session of ICBSD 2018 was held. Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission Bangladesh, was present as the Chief Guest. He stated that, such initiatives should be introduced in every public university so that the teachers can be engaged in more research-oriented activities.

Professor Kenneth Ray Szulczyk from Malaysia received the "Best Paper" award at ICBSD 2018. The Conference Chair Professor Md Shibley Sadique, PhD, stated that the objective of ICBSD 2018 was to develop and nurture research in the area of innovation, diversity and sustainable business practices in Asia.  The papers presented in the two-day conference highlighted the multifaceted aspects of business. "I am sure that all of the participants are motivated to share their concerns, ideas and engage in debates which will become the impetus to future research or project collaborations," he said.

Both the inaugural and concluding sessions of ICBSD 2018 was executed by the Conference Secretary, Professor Md Shah Azam, PhD. The ICBSD 2018 ended with a wonderful dinner with the participants from home and abroad.
