On March 30 and 31, 2018, Asian University for Women in Chattogram, Bangladesh, hosted the Fifth International Conference on Natural Sciences and Technology (ICNST). The conference was a culmination of research and scholarly works not only by seasoned scientists and faculties, but also, by rising students in the fields of natural sciences and technology.

Held on the campus grounds over the weekend, ICNST'18 garnered over 350 abstract submissions during its selection process from over 200 national and international institutions, representing diverse geographical locations. The conference gathered together 200 participants, keeping a balance between well-acclaimed researchers and scientists as well as aspiring undergraduate and Master's students. The sessions also comprised of senior year students from Asian University for Women who participated in the Public Health, Biological Science and Environmental Science sessions showcasing their final year thesis work.

What makes ICNST stand out particularly is its tribute to women empowerment and leadership by a liberal-arts based institution. The Asian University for Women is the only international liberal-arts style educational institution in South Asia, fostering more than 700 students hailing from 16 different nations, representing 39 ethnicities and speaking 29 languages.
