Nadia Ali is a popular RJ on the BBC Asian Network in the United Kingdom. She has successfully popularised Bengali numbers, not only amongst the Bengalis living in London and outside, but also amongst many English, Hindi and Arabic music lovers. Also a full time barrister, anchor and a fashionista – Nadia is a true-to-the-heart-multi-tasker. She writes to us from London.

What is the first sentence that you say on your show?
Shobaike onek onek bhalobash janiye ajker show shuru korchi! (Starting the show with lots of love for everyone!)

How do you relax after a tiring day of work?
On my cosy sofa with my blanket, a hot cup of tea and my mum for gossip! Oh, and now I have my little bundle of joy - Simba (Persian Chinchilla Kitten).

What are the three things that you would like to take with you to an isolated island for a month?
My Simba for company, my phone and plenty of water.

Who inspired you?
My parents are the soul of everything I have achieved today! They've inspired me in so many ways – they are the 'bestest' friends any daughter can ever wish for. They made me believe that I can achieve anything in life!

What is your motto in life?
Live, Laugh and Love.

What would be your New Year message to our readers?
New year, New start, New dreams... Make every second count this year, spend time with your loved ones and appreciate the things you have in life. Be fearless, be strong, be you. Start living your dream this year.
