UP polls: Allegations of assault and death threat

As the third phase of union parishad election closes in, allegations on Awami League backed candidates, of threatening, assaulting and humiliating those who are openly against voting for them, are emerging from various unions in Natore district. In the district's Jamnagar union, a supporter of an independent candidate has been beaten and publicly humiliated by Bagatipara upazila Awami League leader Abul Hossain.

On the other hand, in Dayarampur union, a voter has allegedly received death threat from Awami League backed candidate Mahbur Rahman Mithu and his men.
