Barishal farmers can’t find buyers for paddy saplings

Although the Barishal paddy sapling market is usually bustling during the peak season, this year the market is facing a dearth of buyers.

Every year, during the Aman rice season, farmers from surrounding areas rush to the market to sell their saplings.

But this time around, farmers have stopped buying saplings since a lot of their fields are inundated. And sellers are being forced to sell their saplings at very poor rates.
