Boithakata Floating Haat on Belua river in Pirojpur

The floating vegetable market on the Belua river of Pirojpur is a popular market. It runs from morning till noon on every Saturday and Tuesday. All trades happen on the boats filled with goods on the river.

Once upon a time, the river was one of the major modes of transportation in this area. The farmers used to carry their goods to markets far away by waterway. That's how the floating market was born. Locally, it is known as "Boithakata Floating Haat."
