Nimtoli Deuri becomes heritage museum

Nimtoli Deuri, a historic establishment in Dhaka built around 1765, has been turned into a heritage museum after restoration.

The main part of the 250-year old palace has already been ruined due to lack of conservation. The palace's entrance has been restored and turned into a museum following efforts by the Asiatic Society.

The three-storey building with Mughal-era architectural pattern was built for the Nayebs and Nazims of Dhaka following the defeat of Bengal in the Battle of Plassey.
