Mirpur residents suffer due to Metro Rail construction, waterlogging

For Mirpur residents, hardship while commuting has become an everyday affair.

There seems to be no solution to waterlogging in the roads and pavements due to poor drainage system.

Begum Rokeya Avenue in the area becomes inundated even after only 30 minutes of rain.

With a significant portion of the Begum Rokeya Avenue being demarcated for the construction of Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit (DMRT), traffic congestion in this highly populated part of Dhaka city has become unbearable.

A little rain makes the situation even worse.
