Gaibandha flood victims take shelter in empty rail coaches

Many flood-affected people have taken shelter inside empty rail coaches of a train stuck between Trimohoni-Badiyakhali area in Sadar upazila of Gaibandha as their houses were inundated in flood waters.

Hundreds of houses were affected overnight after flood waters damaged river embankments and inundated adjacent areas, reports our Bogura correspondent.

Also, around 650 metres out of the 11-kilometre long railway track in the upazila, stretching from Trimohoni-Badiyakhali to the railway station, have been damaged by flood waters, with the ground beneath the rail slippers being washed away at different places.
