Totti hints at new challenges

Roma legend Francesco Totti has dropped a hint that he may not lay down his boots after his Roma career comes to an end.

After a remarkable 25 year AS Roma career, the iconic Italian is set to prepare for his farewell, goal.com reports.

Totti will take in his final fixture against Genoa on Sunday, with no contract extension put to the 40-year-old.

The World Cup winner does have a directorial role waiting for him at Roma, but he has hinted that he may not be ready to hang up his boots just yet.

He posted on his personal Facebook account: “I just feel that my love for football never fades: it’s a passion, my passion. It’s so deep I can’t imagine not fuelling it any longer. Ever. From Monday I’m ready to go again. I’m ready for a new challenge.”

Totti has a mammoth 785 appearances to his name and has scored 307 times for his club. He has also netted 58 times for the national team.

Totti has won the Italian Serie A title in 2000-01 along with two Copa Italia titles for Roma.  He won the World Cup with in the Gil Azzurri in 2006.
