Bangladesh's ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan became the leading wicket taker in T20 International cricket after scalping his second wicket during Bangladesh's opening match of the Qualifier round of ICC T20 World Cup against Scotland at the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Muscat today.

By picking up the wicket of Scotland's middle-order batsman Michael Leask, Shakib reached the peak with 108 wickets, having eclipsed the great Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga, who sits still on 107 wickets on the all-time T20I wickets tally.

Shakib ended his spell of four overs by taking two wickets for 17 runs, in which he bowled 12 dot deliveries, as Bangladesh restricted Scotland to a score of 140 for nine in the first innings of the match.
