India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has praised Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed's ability to churn out performances in across different conditions ahead of the ICC World Cup encounter between the two sides in Pune on Wednesday.

"To be honest what I have seen in the last few years, Taskin, I think is a good fast bowler worldwide. He has played and performed well in different venues and different surfaces.," he told the media on Wednesday. "It's never an easy surface in Bangladesh which is not too seamer-friendly. So, on that aspect whatever he has achieved, I think he is a very good bowler."

India have managed to get their premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah firing along with Mohammad Siraj, and Hardik Pandya to make up an effective pace unit that has been instrumental in their World Cup campaign so far. The trio has taken a total of 16 wickets between themselves and outshone the spinners who have scalped 11 as India bundled out Australia and then Pakistan under 200.

Shardul Thakur has taken one wicket, while pacer Mohammad Shami has yet to play a game. This reflects the bench strength of India, especially in terms of their fast bowling as they have dominated their way to three straight wins from their first three fixtures of the tournament.

Ahead of the clash between India and Bangladesh, there have been comparisons over the strength of the pace bowling unit of the two sides.

The recent rise of the Tigers' pace bowling unit gained a lot of attention worldwide.
Taskin Ahmed has led the Bangladesh pace unit with great authority alongside the likes of Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud over the past couple of years.

But the Tigers pace bowling unit is yet to deliver their best in the ongoing World Cup, with Taskin struggling to find his rhythm. He has picked up just two wickets while going at 6.3 runs an over in the three matches he has played so far and did not complete his full quota in any of the matches.

The Tigers pacers have scalped a total of nine wickets against their spinners' 12 in the tournament.
