Half-centurion Nurul ensures Tigers avoid innings defeat

Mehedi Hasan Miraz did not take long to head back to the pavilion but thanks to Nurul Hasan Sohan Bangladesh managed to at least avoid an innings defeat as play finally began after a five-and-a-half hour rain delay on the fourth day of the second and final Test between the West Indies and Bangladesh at the Daren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia on Monday.

The home side need to score only 13 runs to win after Bangladesh, who resumed Day Four's proceedings at 132 for six in their second innings, ended their second innings at 186 all out with all of their tail enders -- Ebadot Hossain, Shoriful Islam and Khaled Ahmed -- departing for ducks. 

Earlier, Miraz was caught behind in the day's fourth over as a bouncer from Alzarri Joseph got the better of the bowling allrounder, who had gotten off the mark with a boundary in the previous delivery after patiently negotiating 18 deliveries without scoring. 

Overnight batter Nurul Hasan Sohan, who remained unbeaten on 60 off 50 balls, has hit five fours and two sixes today and the wicket-keeper batter has single-handedly ensured his team avoid an innings defeat.
