Following a productive first session on the third day today, Ireland were on course to claw back their way into the match against Bangladesh in the one-off Test in Mirpur. However, the loss of set batter Harry Tector has given the visitors a big setback.

Taijul Islam, who scalped a fifer in the first innings, bagged his third victim in the second innings by trapping well-set Tector in front. Tector had already scored back-to-back fifties in this Test and was looking at ease until Taijul deceived him after a resilient 159-ball 56, and the 72-run stand between Tector and Lorcan Tucker was broken.

Ireland still trail by 11 runs are 141 for six after 61 overs, banking onTucker, who is batting on 48 with Andy Mcbrine.
