Bangladesh remain in a strong position as their lead stretch past 100 on the second day of their lone Test against Ireland at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.

Bangladesh reached 316 for five after 64 overs at Tea, with a 102-run lead in the first innings. Mushfiqur Rahim remains unbeaten on 124 off 159 deliveries while Mehedi Hasan Miraz is not out on 18 off 20 deliveries.

Bangladesh could have been in an even stronger position in the Test had Liton Das managed to convert his start to a big score. Liton looked to be in terrific touch, taking on bowlers since coming on to bat at number 6.

Liton scored at a brisk pace, smashing eight boundaries during his 41-ball 43. However, his knock came to an end when he tried to lift a Harry Tector delivery over mid-on but only holed out to the fielder to become Tector's first Test wicket. The wicket also ended an 87-run fifth-wicket stand between Mushfiqur and Liton.

Earlier in the session, Mushfiqur reached his 10th Test ton.
