Simeone will stay: Atletico official

Atletico Madrid sporting director José Luis Pérez Caminero was adamant that coach Digeo Simeone would stay with the Rojiblancos till at least next season as speculation that the Argentine coach would leave the club started to gain some traction.

Speaking to German magazine Kicker, Caminero said: "Diego Simeone has a contract until 2018 with Atletico, he and his staff have assured us that they are happy to stay with us" he said.

"Simeone is 100 per cent focused on Atletico, we have nothing to fear", he added

El Cholo is the longest serving coach in Spain's top flight, arriving at the club in December 2011. 

In his time on the Calderon bench he's overseen two Champions League finals, secured one La Liga title, one UEFA Super Cup, one Copa del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup. 

Speculation has been rife since his comments after the Champions League in Milan -- which his side lost to Real Madrid -- when he stated he would reflect on his future at the club before deciding what to do.
