The Daily Star clinch Pran-DRU Media Cricket title

The Daily Star became champions of Pran-DRU Media Cricket tournament, beating RTV by seven runs at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium in Dhaka today.

The Daily Star skipper Fazlur Rahman was adjudged as the man-of-the-match in the final while Shariat Khan of RTV was adjudged as the man-of-the-tournament.

On losing the toss and being asked to bat first, The Daily Star posted a challenging total of 104 for the loss of three wickets in their stipulated six overs. 

And then despite a fine knock from Shariat, The Daily Star managed to bundle out RTV for 97 runs. The dangerman Shariat was caught splendidly by Rafiul Islam off the bowling of Wasim Bin Habib.

The champion team received a paycheque of Tk 30,000 as prize money.

Earlier in the day, The Daily Star had stormed into the final defeating Channel i in semifinals.
