Sorry end for Junayna, Jewel

Bangladesh’s top swimmers Junayna Ahmed and Jewel Ahmed wrapped up their 18th FINA World Championships participation in Guangju, South Korea yesterday with two more disappointing results.

Junayna finished 86th among 100 competitors in women’s 50m freestyle event, clocking a time of 30.96 seconds. She had earlier finished 32nd among 33 swimmers in 200m butterfly event.

Jewel, meanwhile, clocked 29.33 seconds to finish 62nd among 74 swimmers in men’s 50m backstroke event. Jewel had finished 62nd among 63 competitors in 100m backstroke on Wednesday.
