Mariner win women’s handball title

Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club became unbeaten champions in Cute Women’s Handball League after a hard-fought 33-30 goals win over neighbours Arambagh KS in their last match at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in Paltan yesterday.

On the back of eight straight wins, Mariners needed just a draw to ensure its third title, second in a row, against three-time champions Arambagh KS.

An outright win over Mariners would have seen Arambagh finish second, but they had to be content with a third-place finish with 19 points from eight matches.

Madaripur Handball Training Centre became runners-up with 21 points from eight matches.
