Man Utd officials coming tomorrow

A four-member logistics team from Manchester United Football Club will arrive in Dhaka tomorrow to inspect the facilities here and hold talks with the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) officials for a proposed tour of Bangladesh next year, confirmed a BFF official yesterday.

The BFF, as part of programmes marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, has been trying to bring marquee football teams to Bangladesh. As part of that plan, the BFF supposedly proposed the English giants to play a match here in June-July next year through an agent.

“The four Manchester United officials are coming through an agent with our acknowledgement. They will inspect the venue and hold talks with BFF officials regarding the feasibility of any match here,” BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag said, adding that the visit is a very early step in the procedure as the other dynamics of any proposed match – timing, opponents and status of the match -- are yet to be chalked out.
