Dybala tests positive for cornavirus

A day after denying rumours that he had contracted coronavirus, Juventus and Argentina superstar Paulo Dybala said that he had tested positive for the virus.

The 26-year-old is currently asymptomatic and is in self-isolation.

Dybala announced on Twitter that he and his partner Oriana Sabatini had both tested positive. He is the third Juventus player affected after defender Daniele Rugani and midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

Dybala wrote: "Hi everyone, I just wanted just to inform you that we have received the results for the Covid-19 test and both Oriana and I have tested positive.

"Luckily we are in perfect conditions. Thanks for your messages."

Juventus also confirmed that the Argentine tested positive, adding that he had been in voluntary self isolation since March 11.

Dybala previously defined testing positive, saying: "A false rumour had appeared about me contracting COVID-19. This is not the case, although obviously I am obeying the period of voluntary isolation like everyone else," Dybala wrote on Instagram on Saturday." In the next few days, I will know the outcome of the tests. I hope I don't have the virus, but if I do, I'll continue in quarantine."
