Mushfiqur Rahim scored 72 for Mohammedan while young Al-Amin scored a century for Victoria SC

On way to getting back the rhythm in his batting, Mushfiqur Rahim began his Dhaka Premier League campaign with a half-century at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on April 24,2016.  The Mohammedan skipper scored 72 off 80 balls that featured nine fours and a six against Brothers Union in their opening match and he, along with Sri Lankan Upul Tharanga (70), added 135 runs for the third wicket after the two openers were dismissed with just 21 runs on the board.  Their efforts were followed by an unbeaten 41-ball70 by Nazmul Hossain Milon as Mohammedan posted 285 for six in 50 overs. Nazmul smacked five fours and four sixes.

At BKSP, Victoria Sporting Club rode on a hundred by 22-year old Al-Amin to post a massive total of 314 for eight in 50 overs against Legends of Rupganj. The right-hander scored 102 off 113 balls that saw 11 boundaries and one six. Pacer Abu Hider took five wickets for 52 runs.

At Fatullah, pacer Muktar Ali claimed four wickets for 19 runs as Kalabagan Cricket Academy were all out for 152 runs in 44.3 overs against Mahmudullah Riyad’s Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club.
