Mushfiqur Rahim led Bangladesh to a record chase as they overcame Sri Lanka's total of 214 with five wickets and two balls to spare in their tri-nation T20I Nidahas Trophy match at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

The wicketkepper-batsman was clearly in pain by the latter stages of his innings, but that did not deter him in scoring a 35-ball 72 that featured four crucial sixes and five boundaries which saw Bangladesh overcome the highest total ever posted against them by Sri Lanka.

Earlier, Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das had given the Tigers a solid platform by putting on 74 for the opening wicket. Liton departed for a fantastic 19-ball 43 while Tamim amassed 47 runs off 29 balls.
