Bangladesh's hard-fought win against rookies Indonesia

Bangladesh registered a hard-fought 4-2 victory against hosts and debutants Indonesia in a 5th-8th place classification match in Jakarta today to set up a clash against Pakistan.

This was Bangladesh's third victory in three meetings against the newcomers of Asia Cup, having won 7-2 and 3-1 against them in two earlier meetings this year.

The victory means the men in red and green will face Pakistan, who beat Oman 5-2 on Saturday, in the 5th– 6th place deciding match on June 1.

Bangladesh took the lead through a field goal from veteran Rassel Mahmud Jimmy in the 13th minute. However, the hosts, who had conceded 38 goals and failed to score a single goal in their previous three matches, opened their account from a field goal seven minutes later.

Ashraful Islam's penalty corner in the same minute gave Bangladesh the lead back before Deen Islam Emon made it 3-1 from a field goal four minutes later.

Indonesia pulled one more back in the 36th minute to make it 3-2 before Pushkor Khisha Mimo's field goal one minute before time ensured a two-goal margin victory for Iman Gobinathan Krishnamurthy's charges.
