Bangladesh archer Ruman Sana's appeal to acquit him of his two-year ban bore fruit on Tuesday as the executive committee of the Bangladesh Archery Federation decided to temporarily put his ban on hold following a meeting.

The federation reinstated the 27-year-old's access to training facilities and will allow him all provisions for training but on non-residential basis.

Sana will also be allowed to take part in BAF's upcoming Trial and Ranking tournaments.

Star archer Sana was suspended from all international and domestic competitions for two years on disciplinary grounds on November 13, 2022.

It was learnt that the ace archer physically assaulted one of his teammates on a few occasions, and he was later served a show-cause by the federation.

"I did commit an abominable crime and admitted my mistake in reply to the show-cause notice. At that time, I was in trouble with scholarship and family issues. I accepted the punishment and I have nothing more to say," Sana said.
