Bangladesh's fastest sprinter Imranur Rahman eased through the preliminary qualifying round of the 100m sprint in the World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Hungary today.

The England-based sprinter clocked 10.50 seconds to finish top of his heat as he apparently took his feet off the paddle after forging clear daylight with the chasing pack.

The timing, however, was 0.25 seconds less than his personal best of 10.25 seconds which he had set in July this year in the Asian Athletics Championship in Bangkok.

The 30-year-old sprinter was fourth overall in the qualifying among 33 athletes, with 10 of them going through to the Heats, which will be held later tonight.
