MacGill Tigers' new spin bowling coach

The Bangladesh Cricket Board today confirmed that Australian leg-spinner Stuart McGill is their first choice as spin bowling coach for the national team.

The 47-year-old is expected to arrive in Dhaka before the two-match Test series against Australia.

The board has not had a spin bowling coach in the support staff for quite some time.

If McGill joins, he will be the second high-profile addition to the national team's support staff after legendary West Indies pacer bowler Courtney Walsh.

It is understood that he is set to have a short-term contract and most probably perform his role until the away series against South Africa, which will take place in September-October.

Meanwhile the BCB president, while speaking to reporters after the board meeting said that they had decided to extend the selection committee's stint for one more year.
