Sean Williams enabled his team Zimbabwe post a challenging total of 147 runs with his fourth half-century in 23 T20Is during the Group B qualifying match of ICC World T20 2016 against Scotland at Nagpur today.

Zimbabwe managed to beat Scotland by 11 runs, and register their second win in the qualifying round for the World Cup.

In today’s match, Sean Williams was the highest run-getter for Zimbabwe when the next highest individual score was Chigumbura’s 20 late in the innings. Williams scored 53 from 36 balls when his teammates struggled to time the ball properly.

Zimbabwe’s total of 147 was built on partnerships by the middle order batsmen, and Williams contributed significantly to most of them. The 109 runs scored by the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th wicket partnerships saw Williams contribute with 53 runs under pressure.

When Sean Williams was given the ball, he didn’t disappoint his captain Masakadza. Williams bowled three overs, gave away only 22 runs and picked up the wicket of Michael Leask of Scotland.
