Slow starts for Siddikur and Jamal

Bangladesh's Siddikur Rahman and Jamal Hossain Mollah made slow starts to the Hero Indian Open in New Delhi yesterday.

Siddikur, a two-time Asian Tour winner and a former winner at the Hero Indian Open, was tied 98th after a first round of four-over-par (76). The 34-year-old had an up-and-down day as he exchanged four birdies against four double bogeys at the Delhi Golf and Country Club.

Jamal, who recently won the Bengal Open in Kolkata two weeks ago, was in a much better position at tied 59th after he exchanged five birdies for three bogeys and a triple bogey on the day.

Stephen Gallacher of Scotland and Julian Suri of the United States shared the first-round lead with matching five-unders.
