Siddikur, Zamal to lead Bangladesh in Asian Games golf

Siddikur Rahman and Zamal Hossain Mollah will lead a four-man team in the Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, China in September this year.

The two other members of the team are amateur golfers Shafique Bagha and Liton Mondal, according to a decision by the Bangladesh Olympic Association and Bangladesh Golf Federation.

It has been learnt that unlike previous occasions, the Asian Games organising committee want participation of the best golfers instead of amateur ones. Hence Siddikur and Zamal – the two best professional golfers of the country -- were named to represent Bangladesh alongside two amateur golfers.

Golf has been an event in the Asian Games since 1982. The Games will take place from September 10 to 25 while the golf event will take place from September 15 to 18.
