Former Bangladesh cricket coach Gordon Greenidge arrived at the Asian Tour golf event at the Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC) today after landing in Bangladesh and said the country was his home away from home.

Greenidge is a cricket legend but coming in to promote a golf tournament, he was happy to be a part of the event and said the event was going to help golfers from the region.

"Home away from home for me," the former coach remarked. He expanded on his interest in golf by saying: "I try to play the game. I didn't say I am a golfer. I love it very much. This is going to give a lot of credit to Asian golfers and golfers from this area, especially Bangladesh and the surrounding areas."

Tournament like this was going to help Bangladeshi golfers learn, Gordon opined. "Competing against golfers from the rest of the world can only enhance their game. It is always good to have that knowledge of competing against overseas players because you're able to judge and measure your game."

He was not sure about his accommodation but was happy that he found a place in the golf course.

"I wasn't sure where I was going to stay but I am happy that it is in the golf course.

"The only problem is that I am not going to get a game of golf. Next time maybe I will be able to play if they have a celebrity tournament before the tournament starts," he joked.
