SA Games: Bangladesh beat Maldives 2-0 in Women’s Football

Bangladesh defeated the Maldives in the 12th South Asian Games Women’s Football by 2-0 goals at the Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex in Shillong this afternoon.

After a goalless first half, Marzia Akhter struck first for Bangladesh in the 47th minute while Sabina Khatun netted the other goal in 73rd minute.

Bangladesh Women’s team made a frustrating start in the five-nation competition after conceding 0-3 goals against Nepal in the inaugural match on Friday morning.

However, they bounced back in their 2nd match of the tournament beating Sri Lanka by 2-1 goals.
