U-23s to play practice match today

The Bangladesh Under-23 football team will play a practice match against a Qatari club today as a part of their build-up for this month's AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers.

The U-23 team, which is currently in Doha for an eight-day conditioning camp, will take on Al-Shahaniya SC at the Alsailiyah Club Ground at 10:00pm Bangladesh time.

The team had a two-hour intensive training session in the morning apart from their regular fitness regime yesterday, according to a message from the Bangladesh Football Federation.

Physiotherapist Simon Maltby is working with each individual to get their fitness levels high and get them ready for matches.

Goalkeeping coach Dean May, currently on a four-week contract with the BFF, is working with the shot-stoppers to get the best out of them in the upcoming campaign, according to the BFF message.

The Bangladesh squad will leave Qatar on March 20 for Bahrain, where they will play against the hosts, Palestine and Sri Lanka in Group B of the qualifiers.
